Yashar Moshfeghi

Using Data Science and in particular Information Retrieval, Big Data and Applied Machine Learning, I seek to develop the underlying and core technology for “pro-active” information systems. My research is directed at addressing a critical and challenging data science task: to processing, analysing, and learning from the abundant streams of heterogeneous data about individuals and their environment gathered from recent technological advances such as MRI, EEG, Internet-enabled wearable devices, smartphones, social media and smart cities.

I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.
